Chico High wrestler Maximov to wrestle for Clackamas in Oregon

Chico >> Nick Maximov had a number of possibilities for his next destination, but the Chico High wrestler ultimately picked an action that works as a home far from home.

Maximov made it official that he will wrestle for Clackamas Community College one of the elite National Junior College Athletic Association programs in the country in a small ceremony Thursday held at the Chico High library.

An embellished professional athlete in wrestling, football and martial arts, Maximov bypassed interest from several other schools that included North Dakota State, Northern State University, Brown University, the University of Pennsylvania and Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo to name a few.

UFC Battle Night 88 outcomes: Paul Felder bloodies up Josh Burkman

Paul Felder rebounded from a tough opening round to batter and outpoint Josh Burkman down the stretch in a close, bloody fight.

For his efforts late in the battle, Felder (12-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) was rewarded with a consentaneous choice triumph over the video game Burkman (28-13 MMA, 6-8 UFC), as all three judges scored it 29-28 in Felder’s favor.

The lightweight bout opened today’s UFC Fight Night 88 main card at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on the exact same channel and UFC Fight Pass.

He eventually discovered his rhythm and his variety in this battle, neither came easily to Felder in the opening frame.
